Red Cross Calls for Lifesaving Blood Donations, Announces Special Summer Offer

Southern California Blood Services Region

Select blood drives on August 6 and August 8 to offer FREE general admission tickets to the L.A. County Fair!

The American Red Cross is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Pomona Valley, Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center, and the L.A. County Fair for two community blood drives to help ensure that there is enough blood available for local patients. While supplies last, all presenting donors at the following blood drives will receive one FREE general admission ticket to the L.A. County Fair.

Blood donated at these special drives will have an immediate impact on our community blood supply, which has dropped to concerning levels these past few weeks. The need for blood is constant. Blood for trauma victims, premature babies, and chronic disease patients is a life and death issue.

“When you donate blood through the Red Cross, you can help patients nearby and all across the Southland” said Dr. Joy Fridey, Medical Director for the Red Cross Southern California Region. “We’re grateful to the Boys and Girls Club, the Sheraton, and our friends at the L.A. County Fair for their timely support, and we hope others will see just how important these blood drives really are.”
