Philadelphia – The Phillies are asking fans to join them this holiday season in giving the gift of life at their first ever Phillies Holiday Blood Drive on Sunday, December 16, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., in the Hall of Fame Club at Citizens Bank Park. The event is again being held in partnership with the American Red Cross, as well as 98.1 WOGL, who will be playing holiday music throughout the event.
As a thank you, all presenting blood donors will receive a special Phillies Holiday Pack, filled with fun Phillies giveaways and a 15% off coupon for the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Citizens Bank Park.
Fans will also be able to enjoy special appearances by the Phillie Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls at the Blood Drive, as well as enjoy all the festivities going on that day at the Phillies Holiday Sale at the Majestic Clubhouse Store, which includes a meet and greet with Phillies broadcasters, photos with Phanta Claus, and more.
Free parking is available at Lot S (enter off Pattison Avenue – mention the Phillies Holiday Blood Drive to receive free parking); fans should enter the Phillies Holiday Blood Drive via the Home Plate VIP lobby, located off Pattison Avenue (underneath the giant Phillies sign).
“We are encouraging fans to give the gift that really counts by donating at the Phillies Holiday Blood Drive,” said Anthony Tornetta, Communications Manager, American Red Cross.
In the past eight years, with the fans’ help, more than 10,000 pints have been collected during Phillies blood drives held at Citizens Bank Park.
Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in PA and NJ), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.
