Extended Hours in March

Northern California Blood Services Region

March 4, 2013

In an effort to increase blood collections, the American Red Cross Northern California Blood Services Region is extending the hours of operation at its blood donation centers on Saturdays in March.

Red Cross centers will be staying open an additional hour every Saturday this month for whole blood collections – closing at 3:30 p.m.

Special bonus: The Red Cross is giving all presenting blood donors at its centers a coupon for free ice cream in March.

These special hours are for whole blood donations only and are subject to change. The Red Cross recommends scheduling your appointment to donate blood in advance.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission), meet height and weight requirements (at least 110 pounds based on height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
