Northeastern Pennsylvania Region
On Decemeber 10th the American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be in front of Moe’s Southwest Grill.
STROUDSBURG, PA 11/24/2009—On December 10, 2009 Moe’s Southwest Grill, located in Bartonsville Plaza on route 611, is asking community members to come donate blood in memory of Ruth Adams. The American Red Cross Blood Mobile will be parked in front of the Restaurant from 1pm-6:30pm.
Sure, you’ve probably heard requests for blood countless times over the years, and you are beginning to wonder if the Red Cross has enough by now. The reality is that the need to blood is constant; every 2 seconds in the United States a patient needs blood. And, for every one person who donates 3 lives can be saved.
Ruth was diagnosed with metastatic (cancerous) lesions on her spine, sternum, femur, and abdominal wall in September 2009 a short time later November 22, 2009, she passed away. Ruth was an incredibly selfless, devoted and loving woman and those who knew her would tell you she would give you the shirt off her back. Ruth was a lifetime resident of the area and worked at Pocono Medical Center for 38 years. She had personal ties to Moe’s and when asked what they could do to help her, as in her nature, Ruth’s selfless response was to donate blood. As a result Moe’s Southwest Grill will be holding this drive on her behalf. Every person who comes in to donate blood will receive a Thank You bag including coupons and offers from various stores in the Bartonsville Plaza.
Walk-ins are welcome at the drive, however to reduce waiting time an appointment is recommended. To make an appointment you can stop by Moe’s or call the Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE and tell them you are making an appointment for the Moe’s Blood Drive.
