The St. Louis Blues and the American Red Cross are joining forces for the annual Blues blood drive on Monday, January 17. The drive will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations: • The Pointe at Ballwin Commons • YMCA in O’Fallon, MO • Meramec Arnold Elks Club in Imperial • Hilton Hotel O’Fallon, IL • Julia’s Banquet Center in East Alton The Red Cross hopes to collect 410 units of blood at the five locations. Everyone who attempts to donate will receive a specially designed Blues and Red Cross T-shirt and be entered into a drawing for other Blues prizes, including game tickets and memorabilia. Blues players are scheduled to visit some locations to meet and thank donors. “We are very proud to partner with the St. Louis Blues for this event,” American Red Cross Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region CEO Scott Caswell said. “They are having an impressive season on the ice but even more important is their impact on our community and the people in our region that need assistance.” To donate blood, a person must be in good health, be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a Red Cross parental consent form) and meet height and weight requirements. Blood donors should bring a Red Cross donor card, valid driver’s license with a photo, or other form of official picture identification. For more information or to schedule an appointment, donors should call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org. The radio sponsor for the drive is KMOX.
