Worcester Firefighters I.A.A.F Local 1009 Hosts Blood Drive in Honor of Cold Storage Warehouse Fire's 10-Year Anniversary

Massachusetts

December 11, 2009

To honor the six firefighters who lost their lives during the Worcester Cold Storage Fire in 1999, the Worcester Firefighters I.A.A.F. Local 1009 are encouraging fellow firefighers and members of the public to donate blood in memore of their fallen comrades at a blood drive being held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at the National Guard Armory. By hosting this memorial blood drive, the Worcester Firefighter I.A.A.F. Local 1009 is continuing to say thank you to the Worcester community for the outpouring of support it showed ten years ago.

Each pint of blood donated can save up to three lives, and every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Through this blood drive, the Worcester Firefighters I.A.A.F. Local 1009, fellow firemen and members of the community can pay tribute to the lives lost on December 3, 1999 by giving the gift of life for patients in need.

To make an appointment to donate blood at this drive or another drive in your community, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or log on to givelife.org. Those who present to donate at this blood drive will receive a free lift ticket to Wachusett Mountain and will be entered into a drawing to win prizes from Best Buy.
