Walgreens® Partners with the American Red Cross

All Presenting Blood Donors in June Receive Pure Spring Water* 

The American Red Cross and Walgreens® are partnering to help increase the blood supply and raise awareness about the need for blood.  During the month of June, all presenting blood donors in Massachusetts & Rhode Island  will receive a coupon from Walgreens® for a free 24 pack of Pure Spring Water* and a coupon for up to 20% off, redeemable at participating Walgreens locations.

The promotion helps ensure the community blood supply is maintained.  Blood is an essential component for patient care in area hospitals, and the only source of blood is a healthy, volunteer blood donor.  About every two seconds, someone in America needs a blood transfusion and one donation can help save up to three lives.

“We’re grateful to Walgreens for their generosity in offering Pure Spring Water as a thank you to our generous blood donors,” said Donna M. Morrissey, Director of Communications, American Red Cross Blood Services – Northeast Division.  “We are certain this partnership with Walgreens will increase awareness about the need for blood, especially now that we have entered the challenging summer season. It also serves as a reminder to our donors that it’s important to be well hydrated, particularly just before and after giving blood. This special promotion is being given in gratitude to donors who give lifesaving blood for patients in need.”
