Holiday Mail for Heroes Program
This holiday season, while most of us are spending time with family and friends, it’s important to remember those who are not as fortunate.
Many men and women in the U.S. military are stationed around the world, stuck in hospitals or otherwise separated from loved ones during the holidays. For that reason, we encourage you to take part in the Holiday Mail for Heroes Program and help provide a welcome “touch of home” to our troops.
Throughout the month of November, holiday cards will be available at all Lewis and Clark Region donor centers for you to personalize with messages of thanks and support to U.S. troops around the world.
- Schedule your appointment now
or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Once filled out, the cards are then distributed by the Red Cross at military installations, veterans hospitals and other locations during the holidays. More information about the program can be found at redcross.org/holidaymail.
So take some time out of your busy holiday schedule to donate blood and sign a holiday card for one of our country’s heroes. Someone will be very thankful that you did.
Individuals who are at least 17 years of age, meet height and weight requirements (at least 110 pounds based on height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. To find a blood drive location in your area or to schedule an appointment, call
1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). You can also make an appointment online.
