Everyone who comes out to donate could win a special gift for Dad!

Lansing, Mich. – The American Red Cross celebrates Father’s Day in the Great Lakes Region by giving its donors the opportunity to win a “Father’s Day Fixer Upper” gift card!  Everyone who comes out to donate blood at any Red Cross blood drive or donor center throughout the 65-county region in May will have a chance to win a gift card to Lowe’s (a $125 value) to give dad a hand up on his home improvement projects.

“Father’s Day is the one day of the year when dads are honored,” said Sharon Jaksa, CEO for the Great Lakes Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross. “One way we can show our appreciation for our donors is by helping them show gratitude to their fathers for all they do.”

The American Red Cross was unable to collect more than 28,000 units of blood throughout the country during the severe weather this past winter. The Great Lakes Region is trying to rebuild and maintain a healthy blood supply. Donating in May is a way to help replenish the blood supply from the impact of the storms. This also ensures an adequate blood supply during the summer months.

In addition to having the opportunity to win a “Father’s Day Fixer Upper” gift card, every presenting donor has a chance to win free groceries for March ($250 value), courtesy of Meijer.  Call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment today!
