8th Annual "Battle of the Banks"--Bay City
Bay City, MI—The American Red Cross is once again partnering with several local banks for the 8th Annual ‘Battle of the Banks Blood Challenge’.
The blood challenge will be held from 10AM to 4PM, Wednesday, April 3 at Pere Marquette Depot (1000 Adams Street, Bay City). All eligible donors are asked to come out and give blood on behalf of one of the following participating banks: Citizens Bank, Chemical Bank, PNC Bank, Independent Bank, Thumb National Bank & Trust Co. and Bank of America. The bank that receives the most votes during the drive will win the ‘Blood Challenge’ traveling plaque and, of course, bragging rights until next year’s competition.
“We want the community to know that this is an ‘open’ blood drive,” said Kelly Remer, Donor Recruitment Representative with the American Red Cross. “You don’t have to be an employee or customer of the participating banks to donate; you just have to be willing to roll up your sleeves and help save lives.”
We all know that April showers bring May flowers. Everyone who comes out to donate will receive a free Red Cross umbrella to help them stay dry during the upcoming soggy weather.
The goal of the ‘Battle of the Banks Blood Challenge’ is 25 units of blood. To schedule an appointment, contact the Red Cross at redcrossblood.org or 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
