Starve a Mosquito and Save a Life
Mosquitoes love to take your blood! Wouldn’t you rather share it with a neighbor in need? Help starve a mosquito by donating blood at the 8th annual American Red Cross Mosquito Bash Blood Drive. The event is held at this time of year to help replenish supplies which are often low due to summer activities and the back to school rush. All types of blood are needed!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12TH
NOON TO 6 PM

“We often do not consider the importance of blood until it personally impacts us,” said Bob Draper, Donor Recruitment Representative for the American Red Cross Blood Services in Jonesboro. “Cancer patients, accident victims, surgery patients and others have everyday need for blood products in our community.” Draper added, “You never know when someone you know or love may be the person needing donated blood.” He encouraged all area residents to visit the Mosquito Bash and starve a mosquito while helping a neighbor.
This year’s Mosquito Bash also presents some great opportunities to win prizes while helping up to three people in need with each blood donation. Refreshments will be served. Presenting donors will receive a Drive for Life T-shirt. Also, anyone who presents to give blood at a Red Cross blood drive or donor center Aug. 1 – Sept. 15 is automatically entered to win a $100 gasoline card. One winner each day! You will also be entered into an August month-end drawing for one of the following--a 32” HDTV, a Digital Camera and a Digital Camcorder.
