All Red Cross Blood Collection Operations Closed Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Due to continued winter weather, the Greater Chesapeake and Potomac (GC&P) Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross will be closing all local donor centers and mobile blood drives tomorrow, Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Donors are asked to call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543) to reschedule appointments as soon as possible. Platelet donors should call 1-800-272-2123. In order to meet the needs of local hospital patients, all eligible community members are asked to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule a donation later this week. All donors are asked to call 1-800-GIVE LIFE for updated information on blood drive cancellations and delays for the coming days. Donation hours at regional donor center locations will be extended for the remainder of the week to accommodate more donors.
 

Extended hours for the remainder of the week*

Thursday, February 11, 2010 - All donor centers will open 1 hour early and remain open 1 hour later than regular operating hours to collect whole blood and platelet donations.

Friday, February 12, 2010 - All donor centers will open 1 hour early and remain open 1 hour later than regular operating hours to collect whole blood and platelet donations.

Saturday, February 13, 2010 - All donor centers will remain open 2 hours later than regular operating hours to collect whole blood and platelet donations.

Sunday, February 14, 2010 - All donor centers will be open from 7am - 12noon to collect whole blood and platelet donations.

*The E Street Donor Center and the Burgin Donor Center will NOT have extended hours this week.
