Girl Scout Cookie Day at the Red Cross

Wichita, Kansas – March 2, 2011 –The best part of donating blood is that you are helping to save up to three lives. The second best part about giving is that after you donate, you get cookies –  or another snack – in American Red Cross’ Refreshment Area.

Everyone who attempts to donate this Saturday, March 5, at American Red Cross Blood Services – Central Plains Region’s Garden City, Hays or Wichita locations will enjoy a special treat - Girl Scout Cookies.

Red Cross has teamed up with Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland to promote blood donation and cookie sales. After giving, donors will be able to enjoy Girl Scout Cookies in the Refreshment Area. Also, residents of Garden City, Hays and Wichita areas, who have not yet purchased Girl Scout Cookies, will have an opportunity to do so at Girl Scout Cookie Day at Red Cross. A troop from each community will be on hand to sell cookies. The Girl Scout Cookie Program allows girls across Kansas to set goals to support their chosen activities for the year.

“We are very excited to partner with the Girl Scouts,” said Terri Dunaway, CEO. “It is wonderful when two nonprofits can join forces to benefit both organizations.”
