Platelet Drives in Oro Valley and Green Valley

 The American Red Cross Arizona Blood Services Region will hold platelet drives and platelet prescreening at the following places: 

January 20 
In Oro Valley at the Town of Oro Valley Council Chambers
11000 N. La Canada Drive

  • Platelet drive from 7 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
  • Prescreening from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

February 21 
In Green Valley at Friends in Deed
301 W. Camino Casa Verde

  • Platelet drive from 7 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
  • Prescreening from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

January 27
In Green Valley at the Valley Presbyterian Church
2800 S. Camino Del Sol

  • Platelet drive from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Prescreening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

March 31
In Green Valley at the Valley Presbyterian Church
2800 S. Camino Del Sol

  • Platelet drive from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Prescreening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

February 9 
In Green Valley at Green Valley Farmer’s Market

  • Prescreening only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

For appointments or more information, call 520-230-7266 or 520-230-7267.  

Those who have never donated platelets may walk in for a 10-minute prescreening process that will determine their eligibility to give platelets.  Persons will get the test results in two to three days.

Platelets aid in the clotting process to prevent or stop bleeding.  Platelet donations go to critically ill children and adults who are being treated for leukemia, other cancers, surgery, burns, bone marrow and organ transplants.
