Donor Stories

Donating blood may be an inconvenient or unpleasant process for some but I see it as a selfless act of giving.  You will never know who or how many benefit from your donation. Carl is one who did!  My one-and-a-half year-old grandson Carl was woken up from his nap by his mother and he was having trouble getting up. His mother helped him stand up only to have him collapse back on the floor. After several tries they knew something was not right as Carl could not move his arms or legs. Carl was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, an uncommon disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves.  By the grace of God and a ready supply of blood products, Carl has almost fully recovered from his encounter with Guillain-Barré syndrome.
