Sandra is Director of Real Estate Development for the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, developer of a 65 acre research and technology park on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona known as Innovation Village. In addition, Sandra and her team oversee 55 units of affordable housing for faculty and staff at the university as well as properties that have been gifted to the Foundation for the benefit of the University. Sandra is responsible for the leasing and management of Innovation Village, which currently is 50% complete.
She has been in the Commercial Real Estate industry for 30 years and has worked for several large and small real estate development companies. Sandra is also owner and President of Sterling Asset Services, Inc., a small commercial real estate consulting and management firm.
Sandra sits on the board of the Real Estate Land Use Institute at CSUF and represents Cal Poly Pomona on the Board of the Pomona Chamber of Commerce. Sandra is past president of the Orange County Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management and has been recognized for her work on that board as recipient of its Distinguished Service Award.
Sandra has been a blood donor with the Red Cross since age 18 when she first donated through her church community. Sandra has been active in many community organizations through the years and considers her role on the board among the most important and impactful. Sandra, like many donors, has seen her family members utilize Red Cross blood products over the years as some of them have had surgeries and have battled cancer.
Most recently, her brother Steve, who lost his battle with stomach cancer in 2012. She understands the meaning of the “gift of life” and considers it sacred.
