Position Title
Hispanic Outreach Ambassador
Location
Various sites throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Purpose
Assist with the development of blood donation within Hispanic/Latino communities
Key Responsibilities
- Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
- Punctual and dependable in arriving for assignment(s)
- Attend local outreach opportunities. Opportunities may include, but are not limited to: Faith-Based events, health fairs, community fairs and blood drives
- Present diversity materials and information to constituents
- Encourage community members to donate blood. Schedule donations when appropriate
- Correspond regularly with Community Outreach Program Manager to ensure that information presented is up-to-date and share experiences/questions/ concerns in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Ability to read and converse in Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations
- Good communication, customer service and public relations abilities
- Ability to relate to community members in a pleasant and courteous manner
Time Commitment
- Must attend at least one event every three months (Hours of events vary)
Development Opportunities
- Gain valuable training/experience while providing an invaluable service to the community
- Network with community leaders
- Develop customer service skills
