Position Title
Blood Services Transportation Specialist
Location
Various locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey
Purpose
To transport blood and blood products from various sites to the Penn-Jersey Blood Region headquarters in Philadelphia, PA
Key Responsibilities
- Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
- Transport blood and blood products from sites to the laboratory for processing
- Drive in a safe and responsible manner adhering to all traffic laws
Relationships
Various levels of American Red Cross staff, paid and volunteer
Qualifications
- Valid state driver’s license
- Familiarity with geographic area and driving routes
- Able to verify driving records with state or insurance
- Current car registration and insurance required if using own vehicle
- Experience to demonstrate reliability
Training
- Orientation to American Red Cross Penn-Jersey Blood Services Region
- Transportation Specialist Driving course
- On-the-job training with experienced driver
