Help your student be a Pint Size Hero! Their school could participate in a unique program with the American Red Cross that introduces children to the importance of donating blood. The program encourages students to volunteer at blood drive and invite parents, guardians and other adults to give blood on their behalf.
First, your student would take part in a Pint Size Hero educational presentation at school or a community center, and receive a letter to take home to parents, guardians, brothers, sisters or even grandparents, requesting that someone donate on their behalf. The letter will include a donor response card for the adult to fill out and return with the child.
- Each student who invites an adult to come to donate will be recognized as a Pint Size Hero and will receive an American Red Cross thank you gift and/or certificate.
- If a parent has more than one child in the school, each student will be recognized.
Tomorrow’s life-saving blood donations will be made by today’s children who are taught the importance of giving blood. You can coordinate a Pint Size Hero blood drive at your school, church or community center now and help save a life!
