2012 State College Platelet Donor Recognition Dinner

Nearly four dozen platelet donors were recognized at the Greater Alleghenies Region's annual State College platelet donor recognition dinner, held Wednesday, October 17, at the Atherton Hotel.

Special guests included the Whitehead family of Philipsburg and Bettwy family of Duncansville. Tom, Kari and Emily Whitehead shared reflections on Emily’s experience as a blood recipient while being treated for leukemia (Emily is Tom and Kari’s daughter).

Similarly, Jeff, Kim, Nate, Abby and Eliana Bettwy shared reflections on Nate’s experience as a blood recipient while being treated for leukemia (Nate is the son of Jeff and Kim and brother of Abby and Eliana).
