“That’s where the future lies, in the youth of today” a famous quote by Willie Stargell. Fazal Dataee is one of many of our dedicated youth/ high school volunteers. He has served numerous hours at the Timonium Donor Center as a refreshment and greeter volunteer.
Fazal attended a volunteer orientation session almost a year ago this October with his mother. He was very shy and took some time to get acclimated to the Red Cross. Since then Fazal has used his Red Cross experience to help him with his social skills. “Volunteering at the Red Cross has really been a great experience” says Fazal and he looks forward in doing more hours later in the fall and winter.
He enjoys working with the Red Cross Staff members and the repeat donors. The donors are very happy to see Fazal and even know him by name. Fazal is a sophomore in high school and has most recently made the school’s football team and will most likely play tight end. When he’s not at practice or volunteering his time with the Red Cross, he can be found playing Madden on his PS3. He also gets the opportunity to visit his family in the York, Pennsylvania area.
We are honored to have a deserving youth like Fazal as our featured volunteer of the month. Please join us in showing support for Fazal Dataee for Volunteer of the Month of September 2013!
