This month we recognize one of the Rockville Donor Center volunteers. Prativ Jani started as a volunteer at the Gaithersburg Donor Center, however since then he is now a steady fixture at the Rockville Donor Center, dedicating his time and service to the Red Cross.
Prativ is recently retired and wanted to continue to be active. He first came to the Red Cross by way of the Gaithersburg Gazette almost a year in a half ago. The biggest draw for him was knowing that the Red Cross is an international organization. He has a friend who is currently an instructor for the Red Cross in India.
Originally from Bombay, India, Prativ moved to the United States in 1973. He holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Bombay and worked for Bank One (now Chevy Chase Bank) for over 27 years. He enjoys movies and watching TV and one of his favorites is Tarzan. He has a son and a daughter and his wife is an employee for the Food and Drug Administration.
He once met a donor who visited his home country and was able to share experiences, photos and stories. “Volunteering at the donor center is a great opportunity to meet new people and hear their exciting stories,” Prativ said.
We thank Prativ for his continued support and efforts at the Rockville Donor Center. Please join us in celebrating February’s Volunteer of the Month Prativ Jani.
