Give a Lions Share of Life

Lions Club works to build blood supply
to help patients in need

The Lions Club International Multiple District 13 are out for blood, and aren’t afraid to ask for the lion’s share from members of the local community.

Joining forces with the American Red Cross, the Lions have launched the “Lion’s Share of Life” program, and committed to increasing blood donations at Red Cross blood drives held at churches, club halls, schools and community centers. And they’ll do it through a time-tested recruitment effort: by simply asking others to roll up their sleeves and give the gift of life.

Working with the Red Cross, participants in the “Lions Share of Life” will identify and “adopt” blood drives in or near their communities, then recruit donors to give at those drives. All Lions Club recruiters will receive an exclusive “Lions Share of Life” pin to help promote the program. Individuals who come to donate at the special drives will also receive the exclusive pin to show their participation.

The “Lions Share of Life” program is part of an international partnership between Lions Club International and the International Red Cross Red Crescent Society to support humanitarian efforts world-wide.
