“Rise Up & Give Blood” with the Atlanta Falcons and the American Red Cross
Southern Blood Services Region
“Rise Up & Give Blood” with the Atlanta Falcons and the American Red Cross on Monday, August 19, 2013. A blood drive will be held at the Georgia Dome from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free parking will be available in the silver and orange lots.
All presenting donors will receive two tickets to the Falcons pre-season game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 29, 2013, and be entered to win an autographed replica jersey or two tickets to the Falcons game against the St. Louis Rams on September 15, 2013.
“We’re excited to partner with the American Red Cross to help emphasize the need for blood donations during what is traditionally a slow time of year,” said Kendyl Moss, vice president of community relations, Atlanta Falcons. “We recognize the tremendous need, and are glad to be a resource to help in such a meaningful way.”
Blood can only come from generous volunteer donors and is needed for many reasons. Accident and burn victims, heart surgery patients and organ transplant patients, as well as those receiving treatment for cancer or sickle cell disease, may depend on lifesaving transfusions.
“The Red Cross appreciates the Falcons support of our mission of helping to save lives,” said Jerry J.K. Tillery, chief executive officer, American Red Cross Southern Blood Services Region. “This is a great way for fans to support the Falcons and help save up to three lives in our community with just one donation.”
