The Bulldog Nation Blood Drop
On Monday, April 5, 2010, the American Red Cross Southern Blood Services Region will attempt to break the world record of having the most people, wearing red, in the shape of a blood drop by forming “The Bulldog Nation Blood Drop.” The current record stands at 800 people.
“The Bulldog Nation Blood Drop” world record attempt is open to the public. Participants are asked to wear red to the event. Commemorative t-shirts and concessions will be available for all who participate.
This event has been planned to raise awareness of the constant need for blood. Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Countless patients depend on the generous donations of dedicated blood and platelet donors to receive lifesaving transfusions each day. There is no substitute for blood, and volunteer donors are the only source. The American Red Cross works every day to collect blood needed for patients nationwide.
