About The Southeast Dvision

The American Red Cross Southeast Division is composed of five blood services regions—Alabama and Central Gulf Coast Region (covering Alabama and portions of Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle; Carolinas Region (covering portions of North Carolina, upstate South Carolina, northern Georgia and eastern Tennessee; Puerto Rico (covering Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands); South Carolina Region (covering South Carolina and a portion of Georgia); and Southern Region (covering Georgia and a portion of Florida).


The Southeast Division collects and distributes more than 995,474 units of blood and 105,230 units of platelets each year, serving more than 387 hospitals.  There are more than 2,400 dedicated American Red Cross staff within the Division to ensure that blood is available to patients throughout the Southeast.
           
The Southeast Division is headquartered in Douglasville, GA.  The Alabama and Central Gulf Coast Region is headquartered in Birmingham, the Carolinas in Charlotte, Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, South Carolina in Columbia and Southern in Atlanta.
