Ambrose T. Ng, MDCEO, American Red Cross Central Ohio Blood Services Region Dr. Ambrose Ng received his medical degree from the University of Hong Kong Medical School in 1972. He did graduate work in Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong and received a World Health Organization Fellowship in 1977 to study the Public Health Laboratory Practice in the United Kingdom. He subsequently completed residency training in Laboratory Medicine in New York and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship in Dallas. He is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking.
Dr. Ng served as Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Pathology, College of Medicine, at The Ohio State University from 1998 — 2006.
He joined the American Red Cross Blood Services in 1983 as Medical Director and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the region in 1991. Under his leadership, the Red Cross Blood Program in Central Ohio has seen high growth in blood collection in collaboration from the area employers, hospitals, community groups, high schools, colleges and universities. At the same time, the quality and safety record has consistently ranked the highest in the American Red Cross system. This has served the interest of the area patients, physicians and hospitals well in fulfilling the critical mission of providing a safe and adequate blood supply of the highest quality.
