MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR (Manufacturing)

Responsible for the daily operations of the hospital services sector of manufacturing; hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and disciplining staff; supervising all work processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency; ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, local and regional policies and ARCBS directives; performing supervisory review of documents; ensuring products are suitable for release for distribution; participating in documenting, investigating, troubleshooting and preventing recurrence of errors or problems, etc.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in science, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.  Three years experience including one year supervisory experience required.  MT (ASCP) certifications or equivalent certifications where required.  Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience preferred.  Must have effective communication and customer service skills.  Knowledge of blood products, supplies, and ability to interact with diverse customers required. MEDICAL DIRECTOR (Administrative Services) 

Responsible for directing aspects of regional blood centers operations, including the reference labs, research, medical community relations, and collections. 
Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. degree with post-graduate training in blood banking/transfusion medicine is required. Board certified or eligible in blood banking/transfusion medicine is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of current/projected trends in transfusion medicine/blood banking and hospital health care highly desirable. Knowledge of medical/technical principles of blood center operations. Must be licensed in California(FT/Exempt)

PROBLEM INVESTIGATOR, SENIOR ASSOCIATE (Problem Management)

Responsible for ensuring all problems are correctly identified, risks are accurately assessed; appropriate immediate actions are taken for the investigations, analysis and permanent resolution of problems. 
Qualifications:  Associates degree required.  Three years relevant experience required, preferably in problem management, quality assurance or regulated industry.  Advance analytical and problem solving skills necessary.  Must have effective verbal, written and organizational skills.  (FT/Exempt)

REGIONAL QUALITY DIRECTOR (Quality Assurance) 

Responsible for the full scope of quality issues in the region and is accountable for all quality aspects of regional performance; manages the Quality Improvement Program including deviations management and corrective and preventative actions; manages the regulatory affairs, quality control functions and process control functions; ensures that departmental employees are adequately trained and adhere to all regulations; manages a staff of four quality assurance professionals. 
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.  Ten years related experience, three of which must be a drug or medical device firm.  Three years managing/supervising professional staff and quality assurance practices in a regulated industry.  Knowledge of operations in biologics, pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing environment.  Knowledge of federal regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices/principles related to medical industry manufacturing operations. Demonstrated ability to analyze technical knowledge and apply judgment to ensure decisions are defensible from a scientific and regulatory perspective while being in the best possible interest of the larger organization.  (FT/Exempt)

SAFETY OFFICER (Environmental Health and Safety) – TEMPORARY     

Responsible for developing and implementing all safety programs and training in conjunction with Division Director; identifying, recommending and implementing approved new parameters to measure, monitor and enhance employee safety; ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and corporate safety regulations.   
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in safety-related field or equivalent work experience.  Minimum of three to five years of related safety/risk management work experience with OSHA and other safety regulatory agencies.  Practical skills and knowledge of safety rules and regulations required.  Computer profiency a must.  Project management as well as excellent communications and organizational skills required.  Must be able to work independently.  (FT/Exempt)

Responsible for creating a team environment and providing the leadership required to maintain premiere donor care, customer safety and satisfaction during the blood collection process. 
Qualifications:  RN/LPN or have equivalent experience.   Previous management and customer service experience is preferred as well as effective verbal communication and public relations skills.  A current CDL, with a clean driving record required (FT/Exempt)

COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST I (Collections)

Responsible for performing regulated functions including reviewing, assessing and monitoring records, processes and systems; ensuring compliance with ARCBS directives, state and federal regulations; tracking receipt, distribution and follow up for Memo of Acknowledgement and Understanding (MAUs)
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field or the equivalent is required, as well as a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in blood banking.  Knowledge of blood center operations in regulated departments preferred.  Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills are necessary.  Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.

DONOR SERVICES TECHNICIAN II (Collections) (Valley Mobile, Pleasant Hill)

Phlebotomists are being recruited for our Fremont Blood Center.  These positions conduct health history interviews and provide donor care during the collection of blood units. 
Qualifications:  High School diploma or equivalent plus medical assistant or phlebotomy training/certificate.  A current (valid) CDL (with clean driving record) is required.  (FT/Non-Exempt)

GENERAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (Operations)  

Responsible for performing general facilities maintenance (e.g. lighting, wall repair, painting, etc.); completing work orders; overseeing internal work order process; assisting with internal moves, furniture reconfiguration; assisting with vendor management; managing  fleet; vehicles; performing same services at other NCR locations as needed. 
Qualifications:  High School Diploma (or equivalent); minimum of 5 years experience including knowledge in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, paining, etc required.  Must be able to respond to emergencies 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.  Basic computer skills; excellent customer service; effective written and verbal communication skills necessary.   Must a valid driver’s license in good standing. Assistant Medical Director (Administrative Services)   NEW

             Responsible for assisting the Medical Director with the guidance, leadership, and oversight of all matters relating to the medical practices and research of the blood region.  Support medical services of the regional centers.  Responsible for medical policies and procedures of the blood region.  Monitors medical aspects of regional blood centers operations, including the reference laboratories, research, medical community relations, and collections.  Provides medical direction for transfusion medicine-related clinical services, as needed.  Provides medical consultations on transfusion medicine issues to regional physicians and other health care professionals.  May coordinate medical communications between the blood services region and the local and national medical community, and National Headquarters (NHQ).  Supports the goals and objectives of the organization in transfusion medicine to operational areas of the region and as appropriate to its customers.
Qualifications:  M.D or D.O degree with post graduate training in blood banking/transfusion medicine is required.  Board certified or eligible in internal medicine, pediatrics or clinical pathology.  Board certified or eligible in blood banking/transfusion medicine is desirable.  Knowledge of current/projected trends in transfusion medicine/blood banking and hospital health care desirable.  Must be licensed in the state of the primary site of the region and all banking/transfusion medicine, or related field, or completion of a blood banking/transfusion medicine fellowship required.

Problem Management Manager

Southwest Region

Job Duties: Provides subject matter expertise in Problem Management (PM) for their assigned organization and serves as the department’s primary point of contact in processing, monitoring, reporting, and resolving problems and process improvements. Supervises PM department staff located within their assigned organization. Works with Director QAPM to establish strategic direction for the organization’s PM activities to ensure that they are aligned with the division business and quality initiatives and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Maintains and manages positive working relationships by engaging in cross departmental activities during all stages of problem management and problem resolution. May form teams with members from appropriate departments to assist in problem resolution. Ensures that representatives from organizations / division are involved in the corrective action planning activities.
Qualifications: 4-year degree or equivalent work experience in relevant field required. Masters or other post-graduate education preferred 3 years Management experience required. 6 years relevant work experience in QA, Pharmaceutical or regulated industry required; Red Cross experience highly desired. Proven leadership and management skills. Balanced, rationale thinker. Proven strong written communication skills. Proven strong organizational skills. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and use of statistical tools. Advanced interpersonal skills, including persuasion, effective communication, objectivity, assertiveness, and thoroughness are required. Working knowledge of standard office and statistical analysis applications. Serves as a resource to the PM teams for conducting probable and root cause analysis, developing and implementing corrective action plans, and monitoring effectiveness checks.
