PROFESSIONAL                                                                                       

Divisional Instructor III (Internal only)

Work within the Division collaborating with operational management to ensure continuity of the divisional instruction curriculum and its application to relevant departmental activities. Supervises the On the Job Instruction (OJI) program and furthers OJI staff skills using both classroom and OJI learning. Plan and facilitate learning for newly hired and incumbent paid staff and perform competency assessments as needed to ensure compliance with regulations and the needs of the American Red Cross. Foster a culture of positive public relations at all times to promote a professional image of the ARCBS. Uphold a culture of strict compliance to policies and procedures to ensure SQUIPP. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant education and/or experience. Minimum of five years in department operations to include fully successful completion of most recent competency assessment, if applicable required. Proven ability to present information verbally & visually to groups of various sizes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to adapt to irregular hours and schedule changes with little notice. Must be able to travel occasionally. Must be computer literate and able to perform tasks using American Red Cross programs. Ability to balance production, customer service and compliance to ensure the integrity of American Red Cross products and able to deliver training for and competently perform (if applicable) all aspects of positions within the scope of instructional responsibility according to ARCBS procedures.

Assist communications, operations, and donor recruitment departments in improving donor recruitment through target marketing and effective message development.  Assist operations with research, analysis, and donor demographic studies as needed to support business decisions. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, health education, social marketing, psychology, public health or related field required. Master’s degree in marketing, health education, social marketing, psychology, public health, related field or equivalent preferred. Minimum one-two years of experience in marketing and market research analysis preferred.  Proficient in commercial statistical software packages to support data collection and analysis.  Must have knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques to support target marketing, ability to work independently, and ability to articulately present data and findings.

Assistant Medical Director (Administrative Services)   NEW

             Responsible for assisting the Medical Director with the guidance, leadership, and oversight of all matters relating to the medical practices and research of the blood region.  Support medical services of the regional centers.  Responsible for medical policies and procedures of the blood region.  Monitors medical aspects of regional blood centers operations, including the reference laboratories, research, medical community relations, and collections.  Provides medical direction for transfusion medicine-related clinical services, as needed.  Provides medical consultations on transfusion medicine issues to regional physicians and other health care professionals.  May coordinate medical communications between the blood services region and the local and national medical community, and National Headquarters (NHQ).  Supports the goals and objectives of the organization in transfusion medicine to operational areas of the region and as appropriate to its customers.  Qualifications:  M.D or D.O degree with post graduate training in blood banking/transfusion medicine is required.  Board certified or eligible in internal medicine, pediatrics or clinical pathology.  Board certified or eligible in blood banking/transfusion medicine is desirable.  Knowledge of current/projected trends in transfusion medicine/blood banking and hospital health care desirable.  Must be licensed in the state of the primary site of the region and all banking/transfusion medicine, or related field, or completion of a blood banking/transfusion medicine fellowship required.

Problem Management Manager

Job Duties: Provides subject matter expertise in Problem Management (PM) for their assigned organization and serves as the department’s primary point of contact in processing, monitoring, reporting, and resolving problems and process improvements. Supervises PM department staff located within their assigned organization. Works with Director QAPM to establish strategic direction for the organization’s PM activities to ensure that they are aligned with the division business and quality initiatives and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Maintains and manages positive working relationships by engaging in cross departmental activities during all stages of problem management and problem resolution. May form teams with members from appropriate departments to assist in problem resolution. Ensures that representatives from organizations / division are involved in the corrective action planning activities.  Qualifications: 4-year degree or equivalent work experience in relevant field required. Masters or other post-graduate education preferred 3 years Management experience required. 6 years relevant work experience in QA, Pharmaceutical or regulated industry required; Red Cross experience highly desired. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and use of statistical tools. Advanced interpersonal skills, including persuasion, effective communication, objectivity, assertiveness, and thoroughness are required. Full-time position.  You will transport and set-up supplies and equipment for blood draws at mobile sites in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas.  Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; excellent interpersonal communication skills; flexibility to work varied hours and some travel is required.  A current Class B (CDL driver’s license) or the ability to obtain one, with a good driving record is required.  Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Will have production responsibilities while at blood draws.

Donor Recruitment Representative

Works with volunteers to schedule community blood drives and recruit volunteer donors. Highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, public relations and sales skills.  Detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks and priorities, with good follow up.  Must be comfortable making presentations to individuals, groups or business managers.  Experience with non-profit organizations a plus.  Ability to work independently with little supervision required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, communications, related field, or equivalent required.  Minimum two years of experience in direct sales or marketing preferred.  Knowledge of group dynamics, direct sales, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred.  Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively are required.  Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including training and presentation skills is required.  A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Hospital Services Tech I

Part-time position in the Hospital Services department; the hours will vary.   Provides customer assistance to hospitals in handling orders for a variety of blood products and supplies. Assists hospital personnel with inventory.  Investigates and resolves shipment problems, monitors blood products' temperature, and conducts manual investigations of records.  Must be able to follow strict regulatory procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required.  Requires excellent customer services and interpersonal skills.  Must have computer experience.  One year of experience in blood center distribution and customer services preferred.

Responsible for performing routine non-medical procedures to process packaged blood components. Full-time position in the QC Laboratory department; the hours will be Sunday through Thursday.   Perform and interpret basic and advanced technical procedures on blood samples and complete required quality control.  Qualifications: MLT (ASCP) registered, eligible, or equivalent preferred.  Experience with Hematology Analyzer preferred. Experience with pH Meter preferred.  Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience with increased responsibility in a blood center or similar lab environment preferred.

Full-time position in the General Services department; the shift involves varying day shift hours to include weekends.   Perform general maintenance on equipment, machinery and repair or buildings.  Operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment.  Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of two years of related work experience. Skill and knowledge of mechanical and general carpentry.
