Davidson County Battle of the Badges Begins!
American Red Cross Battle of the Badges Begins
Join Davidson County first responders as they battle it out by donating blood
(Nashville, Tenn., July 7, 2014) - The American Red Cross Davidson County Battle of the Badges is back! Once again, local first responders will “battle” it out to see who can recruit the most people in their community to donate blood.
The Battle of the Badges blood drive is a friendly competition to encourage community members to join local heroes and perform a heroic duty of their own. All presenting donors at the blood drive will get to cast their vote to help decide the winner of this year’s competition.
“Members of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Nashville Fire Department and Metro Police Department know first-hand how important it is to have blood readily available during emergencies,” said Tim Ryerson, CEO, Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region. “This is their chance to join forces and partner with the Red Cross to encourage the community to take on the civic responsibility of blood donation.”
Join the Battle of the Badges and donate blood on July 18 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at LP Field. Your votes are needed to help determine the winner of this year’s battle!
All presenting donors will receive a free pair of pre-season tickets to a Predators game, a Davidson County Battle of the Badges t-shirt and a Chick-fil-A Coupon, while supplies last. In addition, there will be an hourly drawing for Titans tickets, Predator tickets, Music City Bowl tickets, Nashville Sports Council Gold Level Memberships, and prizes from Life View Camping Supplies.
When this contest is over, the Battle of the Badges winner will receive serious bragging rights, a plaque, and be named Best Badge of Davidson County. But most importantly, hospital patients throughout the Tennessee Valley Region are also winners because they get the lifesaving blood they need to survive. Be a hero. Donate blood!
